Week 6...

Kind of rushed this week.  Getting ready for a three week here's something I did a bit ago, but I think it fits in quite well......It's actually a journal cover.   Hope you all have a lovely week.

Summer of Color 5 - Week Four

Red Dress

This was a bit of a challenge for me since I was pretty busy with other things this week.  But I'm sneaking in on Friday with my watercolor.  It's a study for one that I will do in earnest at a later time. It's not even dry yet!

Just Some New Art

Hi everyone,

Been playing around with watercolors and although I love painting flowers in abstract, I thought I'd try some abstract shapes.  Here are a couple....I'm still in practice mode, but I think I'm liking the technique.

Well, this week was a bit of a challenge.  I've been playing around with watercolors for a couple of weeks and put this first one together yesterday. Kind of reminds me of Easter....  8" x 10"

The second picture, I've had for awhile.  It's an Acrylic...12" x 12".....

I'm testing the waters so to speak; doing some watercolors and experimenting with layering and such. It's fun and surprising to see how things come out once the paper is dry.  I didn't think I would like not having complete control of my work, but for some reason, I do!

Here's my newest experiment.

Two of my very favorite colors.  Yay!  This is a watercolor layering test piece I just did and I'm liking it, I think!

Paint Party Friday

This week I'm wishing for's 106F here in the desert.  It's not going to happen, but I can dream!

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Hi everyone,

We're getting pretty hot and dry around these parts.  Hoping for rain doesn't do much...The desert gets less than 10 inches a year.  Here's  "Rainy Day Girl" one of my whimsical girl prints.  She'll be available in my shop tomorrow.  She's hoping for rain as well.....

Hi Everyone,

I've been working on a series of four watercolor florals...all orange.
Here's the first two.  ORANGE ZING.... and ORANGE PUFFS.  They will be offered in my Etsy shop as prints for now and greeting cards later on....

Well, it's been awhile....sorry about that.  Lots going on.

I'll try to be better organized with writing my blogs...promise.
Here’s a project I just might tackle one of these days.

I found it on Pinterest…where I find a ton of inspiration, by the way.

I have several doilies that my mother made years and years ago.  This would

show them off in a lovely way.  She used to put them under little knick knacks

on one of her end tables…not my thing.

What do you all think?  Cute idea, right?

Happy Week, Everyone.

I recently sold a print of my Abstract Acrylic titled "Journey" and it reminded
me that we are all on our own journey.  Mine is pretty hectic these days,
and I hope you are all loving your own journey.......Have a great week!

Happy February Everyone.

Since I'm so enamored with circles these days, I decided to print a copy of my abstract circles

painting and  make a journal cover.  I think it turned out ok… I used some cute tape for the

side, and I covered it here and there with glitter glue (my new favorite thing) in pretty colors.

It's difficult to see the glitter, but it's there!

Fun :)

I love circles and dots A LOT!

What more can I say?

Here’s my latest Abstract Acrylic. “Homage to the Circle”

Be Unique

This is Daphne.  One of my acrylic collages.

She's turning into a tree....a bit of old Greek Mythology taken to a whimsical level.

But the sentiment remains.

Be Unique.

Because, only you can be you.

I'm told it's natural to want to "fit in" and be normal, but really...

What is "normal" anyway, and is that what you really want?

Remember...Be as unique as you...... and thanks for stopping  by

Happy New Year, everyone

I know, I's been quite some time since I've published my blog.  Between reorganizing my studio (again) and the holidays, I hadn't made the time to really concentrate on creating.

So, my 2015 goal is to blog once a week - every Monday - to contribute to my Facebook Page three days a week - and to spend more time in the studio.  And I'm really, really going to try to hold myself to that!

I thought I'd start the New Year off by focusing on the art of journaling with a fun and colorful page from my own art journal.

I love playing around in my journal.  Since it's for my eyes only (unless I decide to share, or course) I get to abandon all feelings of inadequacy and just forge ahead with my thoughts.  Sometimes my page turns out ok, sometimes it turns out fabulous, and sometimes I want to rip it out and toss it in the trash...but I don't.    Why?

Because, fast forward a few months or so, check it again, and I can usually use part of the page in another piece.  NEVER GET RID OF A JOURNAL PAGE....EVER!

Keeping a journal - for your eyes only - can be a great way to harness your creativity.  You can draw, write, post photos, doodle...anything, as long as you enter something on a regular basis. And it doesn't have to be every day or week....just regularly.  And, keeping a Grateful Journal where you can write one thing that you are grateful for every day, week or month...can help you to find the perfection with the chaos of daily life.

A journal is a record of just you and your thoughts.  There are countless online sites to help you get started and to help you find the right fit.  So, there's no time like now....the beginning of a new year to begin.

I'd love to hear from you...if you keep a journal, if you're thinking about it and send photos too!

And, thanks for stopping by.
